Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc. is seeking an entry-level civil/environmental engineer or biological engineer interested in wetlands, streams, and water resources. Projects will include stream restoration, low impact development, wetlands mitigation design, and floodplain studies. Primary duties will include:

  • Stream restoration design, project drawings;

  • Stream assessment and monitoring;

  • Stream restoration construction oversight;

  • SWM/LID/BMP design;

  • Wetlands mitigation design, project drawings;

  • Floodplain studies;

  • Clean Water Act permitting;

  • Chesapeake Bay Critical Area delineation;

  • Chesapeake Bay preservation studies and approvals;

  • Preparing presentations for hearings and client review;

  • Other civil and environmentally-related studies; and,

  • Autodesk® computer aided design work.

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil/environmental or biological engineering, or closely related discipline; and,

  • EIT.

PREFERRED:

  • Up to three years of relevant experience;

  • Experience in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, SWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and TR-55;

  • Master’s degree in civil/environmental or biological engineering, or closely related discipline.

WSSI is seeking a Professional Land Surveyor to join our Millersville, Maryland team. The ideal candidate will be licensed with 10+ years' experience of field and office surveying practices and techniques.

DUTIES

Primary responsibilities of the position will include management of all survey projects, staff and job coordination, marketing, developing and maintaining client relationships, proposal preparation, project scoping and budgeting. A successful candidate will manage/perform all tasks related to surveying projects including Civil 3D drafting, boundary, record plats, legal descriptions, topographic, construction, bathymetric, computations, wetland and stream surveys, etc. This position will require field work.

Candidate must be able to perform in a fast-paced environment with quick turnaround times, the ability to problem solve and communicate effectively, and the willingness to learn and take on new tasks.

REQUIRED

  • College Diploma or Certificate/Degree or related education in surveying and/or Computer Drafting/Design

  • MD Licensed Surveyor

  • 10+ years of progressive surveying/drafting work experience

  • Strong leadership skills

  • Working knowledge of modern survey methods

  • Good working knowledge AutoCAD and Civil 3D software

  • Good working knowledge of Windows Explorer, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task with respect to projects, CAD standards, etc. on a daily basis

  • Ability to meet job requirements/requests to achieve deadlines

  • Ability to allocate time appropriate to projects based on deadlines

  • Ability to work overtime regularly

  • Strong attention to details while maintaining consistent work flow

  • Ability to work under minimal supervision & resolve issues independently based on project/company standards

  • Willingness/ability to expand knowledge of CAD and design abilities through training

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

PREFERRED

  • Experience with Leica software and equipment

  • Experience with UAS

  • Tree Identification Ability
